While giving private classes to his cousin over the internet using Yahoo doodle images Salman Khan a Massachusetts Institute of Technology graduate discovered the magic of free education. Left his high paying job Khan gave his full time on video-based education through his youtube channel by the name Khan Academy. That was more than a decade back, today Khan Academy is one of the biggest open-source learning platforms in the world. And here are the 5 best facts about Khan Academy that you may not know.

1. Every source of knowledge from Khan Academy is free.

Right from the pre-school goers, classroom lessons, teacher’s tool to online courses for preparing for standardized tests like SAT, MCAT, LSAT everything is free for the learners.

2. Its availability in multiple languages.

Khan Academy lessons are available in around 28 different languages. Taking perfect care for those who may not know English.

3. Best SAT practising platform.

According to some reports, if a person study SAT on Khan Academy website for 20 hours it is considered to be associated with a 115-point average score increase.

4. Application analysis, collaboration with Pixar.

What we study in school has some relation to our real world. So Khan Academy in collaboration with Pixar animation company has come up with a new initiative called ‘Pixar in a Box’ which will teach us how the skills we learn in school help workers in Pixar.
