Learning ‘Pods’ but not Homeschooling is what the American moms are up for
The suffering of children under the pandemic is unmeasurable. The world is witnessing the crisis for the first time and we truly have no idea how much the little ones are suffering. After the closure of the school, the American moms have opted for homeschooling but to their surprise, they have ‘ failed’ in a colossal way. So now they are setting up ‘learning pods’.
The idea of learnings pods is to come together with a similar age group children and hire a teacher who would supervise the online instruction as well as oversee other activities. In general, the pod meets are happening for 3 hours a day for 3 days a week. Where the teacher may charge anything between 50 to 150 USD per hour depending upon the qualification, which will be then divided equally among the parents holding the pod.
As an idea, the learning pod is gaining quite a good popularity keeping in mind the pandemic situation. Social media pages & groups are popping up with similar ideas and spreading across the states.
Parents, on the other hand, is welcoming the idea of learning pods as they believe that such practices will help their children follow an academic plan, stay in touch with their friends, socialize and parents can go to their work or do the same from their home.
Teachers are happily changing their role as pod instructors and spending their afternoon in a much fruitful way earning up to 500 USD per week with only a few hours of work.
