TikTok ban creates havoc. Five made in India alternatives of TikTok.

Even when the TikTok was a super hit there were no competitors and now when the app is banned by the government of India, there is still hardly any entertaining app that can even come close to what the Chinese app was providing.

The parent company ByteDance who owns apps like Helo & TikTok could bear a loss of more than 6 billion because of the ban. But neither the government nor India made video streaming app companies were ready for such an announcement. But somehow their popularity and demand increased overnight because of a large number of creators who were working on the Chinese platform found themselves on a no-mans-land all of a sudden.

Well, I did thorough research for the last few days on the popularising apps. I downloaded a few as well. And here are some of them with a deep insight into what you may get if you download them.

On top of the chart is a Gurugram, India based app by the name ‘ROPOSO’. Made in the year 2014 under the aegis of Relevant ESolutions Pvt Ltd. Roposo is a product of 3 IIT Delhi alumni. Everything sounded good till I got into the app. Issues that are very basic came to me at a rapid annoying pace. I went to check the user review on the google play store, and I saw many similar problems reported over a long period of time. Although the company claims that they have more than 60 million users, but I doubt their happiness. I am pretty sure that Roposo was also not expecting such a piece of news so early. Give a try and let me know your feedback.

Well, this app has hardly any strong existence on the internet. The name is ‘Chingari’ (the spark or the sparking flame in English) is the luckiest one. So I decided to do a self-check on the app. The app looks a little half-cooked served. It’s unfortunate. All the problems are in the basics. It’s slow, wrong UI connectivity, loading issues, and so on. Again I would suggest to check yourself and carry on. But it’s on the trend, and it’s in the second position. Chingari is yet to fire and the app has proved that everything that tops doest means that it’s the best.

TikTik App

Well, there is neither any details nor official picture/logo available on the google search for a name alike app by the name TikTik. I didn’t even dare to download the app. But its trending on top 3. Check the app at your own risk.

Well, finally its the ‘Mitron’ app. More than its function, the name itself is very famous in our country both as a very serious & also as comic relief. I don’t know why. Anyways, the UI looks like a pirated version of TikTok with some serious issues on almost all grounds. Slow server, poor video quality after upload, and many more issues which by now you can even guess. So let’s not waste any more energy on these apps.

So there was no 5th app on the trending list. After Mitron there were some chatting apps, so I took some time to search along within the google store for similar video-based apps which may have some good things but stayed hidden because it’s not trending. And finally, I came across a different kind of an app that is not as entertaining as all the above but its definitely better and more purposeful than the rest of the pack. If you remember TikTok was also a good platform for inspiration & educational videos. So here you go.

Witblox App

It’s called the Witblox app. It’s a very small and dedicated educational startup and somehow the team has come up with the right mixture & experience of almost everything. It’s also very practical because it has been made with a purpose to serve and encourage the children in learning. If you remember TikTok was also promoting learning skills through their app. Witblox is not a replica of TikTok but it has a short video-based social media within the app which has many features like TikTok but its not TikTok and that’s the best part. Made in India, this app was most satisfactory in comparison to all the above but its not meant for entertainment but for education and I think that is where this app has won my heart & may win you too. The team has understood the need for a very famous app UI integration for a much larger purpose. Full marks to this app for this, and it’s not trending. And I believe they must not trend but work for a better purpose & a bigger cause.

To conclude I have only one thing to say. Do not follow anything blindly. Tryout yourself and then choose. Remember, the diamond lies deep into the Earth under great pressure. And once found the shine takes away your breath and it becomes priceless. I hope you have got my metaphor.
