When you open the newspaper in the morning expecting some good headlines you come across news of young & talented children are committing suicide because parents are forcing them to study but they like sports. The notion that only schooling can give us work in the future needs to change & change as fast as possible.

Children are smart till they visit the school and become idiots and as parents, we are happy with the fact that we are preparing idiots for a much smarter future. Incidents such as the news above will never see an end. It will only appear in the local newspaper once and then it’s gone, cause there is no law which can give justice or punish the persons responsible for the suicide. The parents lost their child, the society lost a future footballer and the planet lost another innocent child who could have done wonders if allowed to play & play more.

As adults, we need to unlearn a few things as soon as possible.

  1. Education is not entirely a school-based process, rather a life-based process.
  2. No educational institute can give you a job. It’s just a mimic to make you put in a large amount of money into the system.
  3. We need to give skills & qualities to our children which will help them to earn money.
  4. Education needs to adjust/evolve according to time & need, unfortunately, it is not the case in India.
  5. Parents need to wake up, study and do self-research about the best countries imparting right education.
  6. Don’t baggage your expectation on your child. Look out for their interest and work on it.
  7. Try to look at the education of your own life. How much of it is useful?
  8. Our old education is still based on rote learning system, where memory is misrepresented as intelligence, students are divided based on marks & grades. The process of elimination is still in practice in the school.
  9. Our schools are not democratic nor inclusive.
  10. The other name of education is freedom. Let the children do what they love to do most of the time. As parents just help them solve their queries and provide them with the condition where they can practice and develop their skills and qualities.

“I never teach my pupil, I only provide the conditions in which they can learn”

— Albert Einstein

The idea of working under power without asking too many questions is something the Englishmen vaccinated in our forefathers and it’s still resulting, we need to come out of this halo effect. In this era of internet and world archive, you don’t have to dig too deep, the answers are right beneath our feet. Don’t let this old & obsolete education system destroy our child’s future. A little bit of research will give you all the answers. Work on it, right away.
